Music and Choirs

Runnymede United boasts a very rich music program, with offerings to suit all tastes. Special annual events include “Carols by Candlelight” just before Christmas, and a choral service on Good Friday. The following opportunities are available, if music is one of your chosen gifts to God.

Chancel Choir

The Chancel Choir, plus soloists, lead the worship service every Sunday at the 10:30am service. Our 25+ voice, 4 part choir performs a wide range of styles and composers. New singers, especially tenors, are always welcome. Watch for our special choral services at Christmas and at Easter. Guests are welcome to join the choir for this more challenging repertoire, and it will give you a taste of the people and the music. We’re sure you’ll be hooked.

Sunday Night Connections

A contemporary music worship team is one feature of the Sunday Night Connections (SNC) services at 7:15pm on Sunday evenings. Different small ensembles of musicians with keyboard, guitar, bass, percussion and vocals provide a more modern musical worship experience. Some of the songs for worship are original works by the members of the worship team. Most of the worship songs are chosen from the best of the Christian Contemporary genre of the praise and worship music in North America today. The service has been described as 'healing', 'intimate', 'beautiful' and 'filled with the strong presence of God'. For more information, contact Joy Sumyi Lee.
