Sunday School

10:30am in person

Sunday School is not only great fun; it’s a safe space for your child to learn about Jesus’ central teachings on love & acceptance, along with age-appropriate lessons on social justice issues and how even the smallest among us can make a difference in our world.

Children begin Sunday in the sanctuary with their families. If comfortable, they can come forward for "Children's' Time," leaving after that with teachers for class. Parents are welcome to accompany their children.

If you have questions, please email our youth and children coordinator Brooke Richards.

  • This past year in Sunday school our monthly themes have included, among others: Community, Compassion, Gratitude and Joy.

During Covid, when we were exclusively online, supplies were delivered to participants’ homes so the kids could take part in our Zoom lessons together.

In the upcoming year, we will be exploring the themes of Imagination, Purpose, Renewal, Stillness, Balance and more.

Each theme is explored for 4-5 weeks using a combination of crafts, science experiments, a Bible story, a contemporary story book, song and movement so that the kids can see how Jesus’ teachings are applicable to their daily lives today.

This school year started out with the theme of ‘Stewardship’, delving into how we care for our environment, the people around us and ourselves. We focused specifically on Indigenous issues and had a wonderful visit with a young Anishinaabe artist who shared her culture and then led us through an art project honouring Grandmother Moon. The children sent the Prime Minister letters about the need for clean water on reservations – and they received responses back from him!

Join our wonderful teachers for creative programming, insightful discussions and very cool art projects and science experiments all designed to help us discover the Joy that comes from living in the manner that Jesus taught.
