Chancel Choir

Runnymede United Church’s Chancel Choir is a warm community within the congregation. It flourishes in an inviting environment where members can learn music and enjoy singing together. Everyone feels better when they sing! Our choir enjoys performing a wide variety of musical styles.

Our choir is supported by four paid soloists/section leads who provide weekly solos in worship and assist other choir members in learning and performing our repertoire.

From September to June, the Chancel Choir practices Thursdays from 7:30-9:30 p.m. in the Sanctuary. Then we meet Sunday mornings at 10:00 a.m. in Memorial Hall, half an hour before the morning service.

Join the Runnymede United’s Chancel Choir to meet new people and learn a new repertoire of music.

Christmas and Easter Choir Sessions

Before Christmas and Easter, we prepare extra music for Carols by Candlelight, Christmas Eve and the Good Friday Service. Those rehearsals are on Thursdays from 8:30-9:30 p.m. for 5-6 weeks preceding the holidays, ideal for singers who may not be able to join the Chancel Choir full-time.

Runnymede Kids Choir

We are happy to provide regular opportunities for children to sing in a seasonal choir that prepares songs for worship 2-3 times a year. Rehearsals are advertised in our weekly newsletter and usually rehearse directly following the Sunday morning service. For information on when our next session begins, please keep an eye on our announcements or contact David Ambrose directly.

Musical Guests

We are blessed to welcome a wide variety of guest musicians to complement our music program at Runnymede. From professional to student ensembles, and classical to contemporary, these musicians add so much to our music program and worship life at Runnymede!
