Weddings
You’re getting married…congratulations!
Thank you for considering Runnymede United Church for your wedding ceremony.
Runnymede is a big, beautiful church with a long centre aisle, a stunning barrel ceiling, and lovely surroundings to celebrate your special day.
We are an open and Affirming congregation where all people are welcome and invited to celebrate their love without barrier. Our church has been on this site for close to 100 years, and has been part of many weddings and celebrations throughout its history.
We’re happy to arrange a tour, answer your questions, and if you choose to be married here, set up a meeting with a minister to begin planning your day.

Planning Details
-
It is the couple’s responsibility to obtain a marriage license from a ServiceOntario branch.
Licenses are valid for 90 days from the date of issue so please plan accordingly.
Please deliver your license to the church 2 weeks before your wedding date so we can enter the required information in the church wedding register.
-
Music is a special part of the life of Runnymede United. We are blessed with talented musicians who can work with you to choose music that fits your ceremony and makes the day even more memorable. Contact the church office to arrange a meeting with our Organist and Music Director.
-
Runnymede United has capable audio technicians available to provide sound support for your ceremony.
-
To care for our environment, confetti, rice, and birdseed are not permitted on church property.
-
You’re welcome to bring sanctuary decorations that are meaningful to you. Because the sanctuary is historically beautiful, we ask that no nails, tacks, or tape be used if it could damage furniture or finishes. Please contact the Wedding Coordinator to arrange a time to decorate.
-
Flowers are welcome in the sanctuary. We have flower stands available, or your florist may bring their own. The Wedding Coordinator will work with your florist (or whoever is bringing the flowers) to place them in a way that suits the ceremony and does not impede movement.
Please let the Wedding Coordinator know:

Photos and videos are welcome, as long as they do not interfere with the ceremony. The minister will coordinate with photographers/videographers before the service to provide clear guidelines.
You’re also welcome to use the front lawn and steps for photos after the ceremony.
Livestreaming: We can livestream the service, and a streaming technician is available for hire. Please contact the Wedding Coordinator for details.
-
A rehearsal time will be arranged in the days leading up to your wedding. It’s a short walk-through of the ceremony to help everyone feel comfortable and prepared.
